Hair Growth Asanas -

1. Kapal Bhati Pranayam:

This is an exercise where you practice controlled breathing with some modifications, which is also known as the breath of fire. The brain cells receive more oxygen when doing this yoga for growing hair since it is good for the nervous system. It has an added plus point of reducing stress and mental tiredness. Not only does it promote hair growth and reduces hair fall, but it also helps in strengthening your core muscles and cures obesity and diabetes.

It also helps in removing toxins from your body. First, sit in a cross-legged position or Vajrayana. Then place your right-hand palm on your navel and try to relax your body and mind. Then, start thrusting your stomach inwards and exhale a gust of air from your nose. You will see that you will automatically bring back air in the body when you relax your stomach and then repeat the forced exhalation. Do this 15-20 times and do two to three sets.

2. Bhastrika Pranayam:

It is an asana that exterminates excess bile and phlegm in the body, also known as bellows breath. It also acts as a purification agent for the nervous system and prevents all kinds of diseases in the body. Sit in sukhasana first, and then make your palm into fists and bring them close to the shoulders with the elbows kept at the side.

With a forceful breath in, take your hands up and open the fists. Now exhale forcefully again while taking your hands to the initial position and making them into fists again. Repeat the same 12-15 times for 2-3 sets and then relax.

3. Naadi Shodhan Pranayam:

Also known as the alternate nostril breathing exercise, this hair growing yoga helps treat respiratory problems like asthma, breathing issues, heart problems and arthritis, depression, migraine, stress and eye and ear problems. Position your first two fingers of the right hand in the middle of the eyebrows.

Then gently press the right nostril with the thumb and inhale from the left nostril. Pause your breath, and use your ring finger to close the left nostril and exhale from the right. Then close your left nostril and exhale from the right. Make this motion continuously for 10 minutes and then rest.

4. Ustrasana

This particular asana increases the blood circulation and increases the blood supply to the head and the heart, which, in return, promotes hair growth.

Asanas To Reduce Hairfall -

1. Adho Mukha Savasana:

It is also known as the downward dog pose. It is responsible for providing good circulation to the head and stimulating the nerves of the scalp and is also beneficial for people suffering from sinus problems and common cold or influenza. The asana has many other significances; it also cures mental tiredness, insomnia (or sleeplessness) and depression.

Firstly, make a straight dog posture. The elbow and the knees are supposed to be straight. After this, try pushing the hips outwards and pull the stomach inwards; you should see that your body makes an inverted "V" shape. Stretch your neck as much as you can and make sure that your hands have a shoulder's distance in between. Press your palms for a few seconds on the ground and try to breathe at the same time.

2. Utthanasana:

It is also known as the standing forward pose. This asana is useful in reducing tiredness and fatigue. To do this, the spine should be upright with the feet with a little bit of space in between. Then take a long breath and stretch your spine. Then exhale and hinge your hips, and bend your upper body forward by stretching your hands towards the floor.

You might bend your knees a little bit to avoid any kind of pressure on your lower back. This yoga for hair growth should be done in such a way that the body weight falls on the heels of the feet. Remain in this position for a few minutes and breathe slowly in order to relax.

3. Pavanmukthasana:

This particular asana is also known as the wind-relieving pose. The asana helps in removing toxic gases that are trapped in the intestines and helps n the digestion of food. To do this, you need to lie straight on your back. Inhale and pull your right knee and grab it towards your chest.

When you exhale, take the forehead towards the right knee. Stay still in this position for some time and breathe slowly and exhale for a few seconds. Now inhale and put the head back; while exhaling, put your right leg back on the ground. Repeat the same process with your left leg and then with both legs.

4. Sarvangasana:

This asana regulates the proper functioning of the thyroid gland and promotes hair growth. Also known as the shoulder stand asana, this hair growing yoga ensures your nervous system's healthy functioning along with your respiratory system and refreshes your thyroid gland. It also increases the blood flow to your brain. In order to this asana, lie straight on your back; pull both of your legs in an upward direction so that your lower body is slightly raised.

Keep both the palms pressed tightly on the lower back and torso region in a way that your palms are giving support to the back area. Now you have back support, so with the help of your hands, push your lower-back upwards while pulling your legs at the same time.

When you achieve the position, you will see that all your body weight has transferred to the shoulders and hands. And remember, when you are coming back to the original position, first let the back fall slowly with the help of hands and then let your legs down.

5. Vajrasna:

Widely known as the diamond pose or the thunderbolt pose, this asana reduces stomach gas, improves digestion, and helps in weight loss other than fostering hair growth. Unlike other yoga poses for hair growth, this asana can be done after you had your food. To start this asana, simply bend your knees and sit on your buttocks and make sure that the sides of the soles should be close to you as much as possible.

The spine and the back should be erect. Now slowly start heavy breathing at a steady pace, and maintain this position for 2-8 minutes. Try and see for yourself if all this yogic knowledge can make your hair grow and give it a change that you always desired.
